BOAT INFORMATION

This yacht must be seen to appreciate its true comfort and livability. Custom ordered by its current and original owner, this 70’ Tayana is truly like no other. The most unique feature of “Wind Castle,” among the several custom options and features is the 9’6” of head room found in the main salon.

By far the largest salon I have seen on a sail boat under 100.’ Wind Castle was originally built, outfitted and consistently upgraded with the owner’s intentions of a voyage around the world once their business obligations were concluded. Many options have gone into Wind Castle to make her easily handled by a cruising couple. Featuring electric furlers, electric winches, in boom furling main, bow thruster and a custom designed gravity actuated tender storage system.

All this design and forethought has produced a very large and comfortable cruising plate form while still easily managed by a couple.

Custom Burl Camphor wood interior with Ostrich embossed vinyl wall and ceiling coverings along with granite countertops and teak and holly flooring make up the interior décor. The Burl Camphor wood cabinetry gives you that very lavish hand crafted wood work the builder is renowned for. While the Ostrich embossed vinyl wall coverings keep the interior bright and inviting.

Keeping you comfortable in any climate is provided by four A/C units totaling 62,000 BTU of cooling power. Each unit is operated by its own separate water pump, unlike most systems that operate completely on a single water pump source. This method provides much more redundancy. In the cooler climates a 104,000 BTU Diesel Hydronic heating system will keep Wind Castle toasty with independent temperature controls in each cabin.

In order to reduce the number of thru hull openings in the hull, three sea chests take care of all necessary water intakes. This configuration provides an additional level of safety at sea.

As the owner’s day jobs limited their time for long voyages before retirement, the boat has been enjoyed nearly entirely inside the San Francisco Bay and Delta. With less than 150 miles spent on the ocean itself, Wind Castle does not have the fatigue and usage you typically see in fully outfitted cruising yachts. Having reached that point in their lives to set off around the world the owners have now decided on other interests and Wind Castle is available for the first time. You will not find a higher quality yacht with this level of pampered ownership anywhere near this asking price. Please reserve your private showing.

ACCOMODATIONS

Wind Castle is a three stateroom vessel with three full heads.  The master cabin benefits from a large aft cabin with full walk around queen size bed and well sized en-suite head.  The VIP cabin is forward with an offset double berth. The VIP/day head is just to starboard with the third stateroom further forward with its own en-suite head.

A large u shaped galley with black granite counter tops and flooring features plenty of counter space with tremendous cabinet storage.  Two large and deep Sea Frost refrigeration/freezer units are found next to a 59 bottle Avanti wine fridge. An additional refrigeration unit is also located between the salon and navigation station.  Cooking needs are fully met with a propane Princess stove/oven mounted on a gimbal. Just above is a Fridge Air Convection Oven.
