Attention: San Francisco Real Estate Buyers

Don’t Buy Any House Or Condo In San Francisco Until You’ve Seen “YACHT LADY” In Emeryville, CA

Built in 1999, “YACHT LADY” combines Italian-looks, American practicality, and a dash of Far East flair. She contains four lavish staterooms and a family-room (salon) that’s set within a fine blend of curves, colors, and cherry wood. Her interior and exterior fabrics were updated and refreshed in 2018.

The craftsmanship, the details and design are unlike anything you’d see in a Bay house or condo. She’s truly incomparable. After all, she is, by definition, a luxury yacht.

How “YACHT LADY” Will Make You Happier, Healthier & Better At What You Do

There is nothing like enjoying the outdoors when you are on a yacht.

Curiously, of all things, neuroscientists have discovered that being near and on water makes you happier, healthier, and better at what you do. That is another story and another thing to consider when comparing San Francisco land-based real-estate to this home on the water. (Note: I recommend you read the book Blue Mind to discover all the ways living-aboard YACHT LADY could improve your life).

To enjoy your time on the San Francisco Bay waterfront, YACHT LADY gives you a variety of places to relax and enjoy your tranquil surroundings and countless Bay views.

Yacht Lady 100

At the rear is her large, generously shaded teak stern lounge. This large, aft lounge area features a varnished built-in-table with seating for ten (the aft bench fabric was updated in 2018). In addition, two loungers are set within the starboard and aft corners. What's more, there's plenty of room for additional chairs for more guests.  A Jenn-Aire propane BBQ serves guests niceley.

Yacht Lady 110

Flanking the salon's sliding glass panels is a staircase to port and a wet bar to starboard. Nearly the entire area is sheltered by the upper-deck overhang. Allowing you and your guests to dine, socialize, and relax outdoors while seeking respite from the sun or rain. This large stern lounge is a prelude to the equally large and remarkable interior behind the sliding stainless-steel glass-doors. Sliding back, the doors open to reveal the wide-body salon (family room) that is in itself a piece of art. And this work of art runs the entire length of the superstructure.

“It’s As If Someone Turned The Family Room Into A Work Of Art”

Typically, many get into yachting to travel, explore and to cruise to destinations. However, if you’re just looking for a place to live, it's no exaggeration to say that YACHT LADY's salon — or rather main-deck family room — is a destination in itself.

Yacht Lady 120

Picture this:

As I said, she is filled with a fine blend of curves, colors, and cherrywood. The cream and coffee colored leather couches are beautifully curved. The 3-tiered cascading ceiling with its sculptured soffits are curved and further accented by a curved pattern. The coffee tables, bar and bulkheads (we call them walls) are curved too. Sensuous curves and flowing forms are beautifully incorporated into many aspects of her interior design. Again, you won’t see this level of detail, craftsmanship, and thought put into a comparably priced house or a condo. Again, she is a luxury yacht!

Yacht Lady 140

Everywhere you look is the warm glow of cherrywood. And this cherrywood glow combines with a cascading white ceiling, which suggests the white blossoms of cherry trees or tranquil clouds. And as for the carpet, with its rippled pattern,

it seems to flow like a running stream beneath your feet. The overall effect? YACHT LADY is invitingly warm while being a visual treat for the eyes. Your family and friends will be impressed.

Set within her becalming atmosphere are three settees set around two glass coffee tables. Together, a dozen of you and your guests can relax, unwind and socialize within her welcoming presence. And the largest L-shaped settee (to port) faces a home theater-style entertainment system. There is a dining area for 6 and country-galley with bar, forward to port. The area was re-carpeted and re-upholstered in 2018.

Why Live In A Small House When You Could Have One Of The Biggest Yachts In The SF Bay?

YACHT LADY is one of the largest, most luxurious and best looking yachts in the SF Bay area. Just go to any marina or watch the waterways and you’ll notice — quite fast — how most boats are small power or sailing vessels. In a bay full of smaller vessels YACHT LADY stands-out. She’s instantly recognizable. She’s an uncommon sight in the Bay area. A rarity. Just look for yourself.

Yacht Lady 20

Now, here’s a little bit about her history and design:

Despite being built by the Taiwanese yard Monte Fino, she has an unmistakable Italian profile. She combines sharp lines, curves, a steeply raked bridge, and large tear-shaped main-deck windows. At 79.99ft (24.38m) long, and 20.01ft (6.1m) wide, and 4.30ft (1.31m) in depth, YACHT LADY is unusually spacious.

Yacht Lady 40

She’s designed with a wide-body. Which means, YACHT LADY foregos side-decks for an extra-wide salon (an area that acts like a family room) and flybridge (upper deck). All in all, judging her by well-kept exterior teak floors, updated interior, and her modern, Italian-looking profile, most would never guess that she was built in 1999 — as she looks quite contemporary. She most definitely is a timeless yacht, as she has gracefully stood the test of time.

Why live in a small house when you could have one of the biggest yachts in the SF Bay area? Ponder that.

Would You Rather Entertain Guests At Your House Or On Your Very Own Luxury Yacht?

Set directly behind the helm station (to port) is the country-galley for family and friends to congregate before meals. The galley also strikes a balance between privacy while maintaining the vastness of the wide-body salon (main entertaining area). As it creates a semi-private barrier between the helm (where you command the ship) and the port-side salon, while allowing forward visibility.

Yacht Lady 170

The galley is composed of copious amounts of cherry wood and dark marble tiles. And she contains all the appliances — and I mean all the appliances — that you would find in any house or condo.

For example:
Here you will find an array of GE-appliances, which include a full-size, double-door refrigerator/freezer and a flush-mounted, four-burner cooktop with stainless steel oven underneath. Moreover, other appliances include a microwave (with exhaust fan), dishwasher, two basin stainless steel sink, garbage disposal, and ice maker. As well, there are numerous cabinets which ensure there’s a place for everything. And, there’s ample granite countertop space for creating meals or plating dishes. Again, you have everything you find in a house or a condo. Remember, this is a live-aboard, luxury yacht. She was meant to pamper her owner and her guests.

Yacht Lady 180

What’s more, there is a curved, cherry wood bar arranged for convenience, as cold drinks and appetizers are practically at your arm’s reach when enjoying the salon's comforts or when dining at the dining table for six.

A Waterfront House You Could “Cruise” Around The Bay

Forward and up a step from the salon, is the slightly raised and semi-private pilothouse. Simply put, the pilothouse is where you can command the ship — if you are feeling adventurous and want to cruise San Francisco Bay.

The pilothouse is equipped with two black leather pilot chairs and a cozy lounge. From the seating position, the captain (that could be you!) has an excellent view forward and to the sides, making this the ideal all-weather steering station.

Yacht Lady 190

As for the comprehensively equipped dash, it includes a full array of recently upgraded navigation and communication electronics. All sorts of fascinating navigational gadgets and aides that you sure won’t find in a house.

Also worth noting are the controls for the Naiad stabilizers. These stabilizers are for eliminating boat roll and wave forces to keep you and your guests at ease as you are underway.

Yacht Lady 230

The lounge provides a wonderful area for up to 4 guests and family to gather. She makes for an ideal place to watch the Bay roll by as you are underway. To starboard and port are twin pantograph doors which provide immediate access to the bow area of the yacht.

A Home Doesn’t Have To Be 4 Walls And A Roof — It Can Be A Yacht With 4 Luxurious Staterooms

Set directly behind the pilothouse to starboard, is another piece of artwork in the form of a curved staircase. Now, according to myths, fairy tales and dreams, stairs descend into realms of mystery, magic, and treasure. In this case, this sweeping staircase of cherrywood descends into a palatial “treasure” below decks: the full-width master stateroom. Here you can sense the touch of the Far East. All the curves, colors, and cherrywood from the salon continue into the master stateroom (main bedroom) which spans the full 20 ft width (beam) of the yacht.

Yacht Lady 260

Set within an abundance of mirror-smooth cherry woodwork is a king-sized berth with twin nightstands, a vanity to port, and large hanging lockers to starboard. The stylish king-size bed has a padded headboard flanked by two glass mirrors — which make the room appear more spacious than it already is. Details include a plush carpet, desk, walk-in closet, entertainment center, love-seat to port, pop-up vanity station, doors made of solid wood, a Samsung 40-inch LED HD TV, and of course, copious amounts of hand-crafted cherry wood cabinets.

Yacht Lady 290

Increasing the wow-factor of the stateroom is the palatial ensuite washroom: with separate stall shower, Jacuzzi tub, granite bulkheads, marble countertops, and a sink which (like the staircase) is a fine piece of cherry wood craftsmanship. Bottom-line: this palatial treasure infused with a Far East feel is a haven of stillness. Respite from the world. A cozy, comfortable, stateroom cabin for you and your spouse.

Yacht Lady 380

You Won’t Find A House With A VIP Stateroom — But On YACHT LADY You Will

As you make your way forward from the master stateroom, the interior design from the salon continues below decks. To port is the first of three guest cabins. This cabin contains two single beds and ensuite toilet and shower where marble tiles and cherry wood abounds. Twin portholes bring in light and the berths' headboard mounted mirrors reflect it (which makes the room seem longer). There's ample storage and, of course, an entertainment center.

Yacht Lady 330

Examples of Monte Fino's masterful craftsmanship are found in all areas. For example: the air conditioning vents are painstakingly carved from wood to match the interior, a feature usually found only on superyachts. As you more forward below deck, there is a similarly arranged guest room to starboard. However, it differs in that it contains a queen bed. It too includes an ensuite head and shower (to fore), plenty of storage, and a dash of Far East flair.

Yacht Lady 410
Situated further forward, is something you won’t find in any house: the palatial VIP stateroom — which features a queen-size bed set on a raised island, two-tiered floor. Curved walls, a lounge chair and copious amounts of hand-crafted cabinetry surround the stately queen bed. The VIP ensuite is similar to the one found in the Master Stateroom, less the jacuzzi/shower combo.

Yacht Lady 390

On YACHT LADY, you can give your guests VIP treatment.

For A Man Who Would Prefer A Flybridge Over The Common Condo Patio

Situated on top of YACHT LADY is an unusually OPEN and W-I-D-E upper deck (yachties call this a “flybridge”). This is a most wonderful place to watch the sun set and the stars above.

Yacht Lady 530

This flybridge contains a lounge area with twin L-shaped settees with seating for 10 with built in high-low, fiberglass tables, wet bar and Jenn-Aire barbecue. There is plenty of extra room for loose furniture so you can easily accommodate more guests. Moreover, there's also plenty of storage throughout for whenever you may need to spend an afternoon on the flybridge. And the area can be shaded by use of a bimini.

To the rear (aft), there is a boatdeck wide enough to carry a 16 ft Nautica tender (a little boat you can use as a “taxi” to get around easily) launched via a low-profile Quick Lift davit.

Yacht Lady 540

This additional aft space on the flybridge is typically used to carry water toys (paddleboards, kayaks, whatever you desire to for more fun on the water). The fly-bridge helm, it is set to centerline with two chairs: a captain's chair and a passenger chair to starboard.

Why Buy An Average House For $1.7m When You Can Get A Luxurious Live-Aboard Yacht For $400,000 Less?

As I said earlier, you’d save yourself a few hundred-thousand dollars if you bought YACHT LADY at her current asking price of just $1,298,000. What’s more, it gets even better because you can offset this cost. That’s because YACHT LADY carries a United States Coast Guard MARAD Waiver. In plain English: YACHT LADY can charter up to 12 passengers. This means that you could turn your waterfront home into a charter business. But that’s an idea for another time.
