Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show : 60th Annual & Things to Do

The largest in-water boat show in the world, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, has kicked off its 60th year.

An official ribbon ceremony was held Wednesday morning to unveil the new Superyacht Village. The marina space has yachts up to 400 feet, yacht "toys" like helicopters, submarines, and collectible automobiles.

Docked at the Superyacht Village is Europe's own Lürssen's 311-foot Madsummer, which is making its highly-anticipated and record-breaking world debut, and the Heesen Yacht's 180-foot Vida, which is also making its United States debut.

The boat show is spread out over seven different locations around Fort Lauderdale, is held over five days, and features a vast line-up of yachts, boats, boating accessories, and marine apparel. A network of shuttles and water taxis will transport visitors from location to location.

Boat Show Hours

Wednesday, October 30th, Noon – 7:00 p.m.

Thursday, October 31st, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Friday, November 1st, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Saturday, November 2nd, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Sunday, November 3rd, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

On November 2nd and 3rd, there will be educational fishing clinics for children four to 16 years old; the clinics are free to ticket holders should be a fantastic way to break up the day.

There will also be the 2nd annual Sunset Soiree & Yacht Chef Competition. Guests will get to taste the cuisine created by four of the world's leading yacht chefs.

More than 100,000 people are expected to visit the show.

Beachfront Promenade

Only two miles north of Port Everglades, you can experience the landscaped beachfront promenade with its signature white wave wall and brick-paved path.

The 22-block district includes Las Olas Boulevard for fashion, dining, and nightlife.

Flamingo Gardens : 3750 S. Flamingo Rd., Davie

60-acre botanical gardens and Everglades wildlife sanctuary. Bird of Prey Center & free-flight walk-through aviary, alligators, flamingos, bobcats, black bears, & Florida panthers.

Sawgrass Mills Mall: 12801 West Sunrise Blvd., Sunrise

The dining scene includes Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar, The Villagio, P.F. Chang’s, Grand Lux Cafe, and more. Allow at least three hours to experience this shopping mecca. Distance from the Port: 16 miles*

An outrageous adventure awaits! Ride a subway, visit a cave, and discover a dig in Artscapes. Build sand sculptures and recycled puppets in GreenScapes.

The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale : 2414 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale

Located just off of Fort Lauderdale beach, The Galleria offers 120 stores, including Neiman-Marcus, Macy’s, H&M, and Red Door Spa. Dine at Truluck’s, Seasons 52, P.F. Chang’s and The Capital Grille. Distance from the Port: 6.8 miles*
